Built by coaches, for coaches
FootballHQ was born in Rotterdam, where three friends came together with a shared love for football and an idea: to make training preparation simpler, more accessible and free for coaches everywhere.
Our story
It started with a familiar problem. Preparing a football training session often meant drawing exercises on paper, keeping track of different documents and spending more time organising drills than actually coaching. For one of us, a youth coach in Rotterdam, this was simply part of the weekly routine.
But what began as a small frustration soon became a conversation between three friends. We all shared a passion for football and believed that preparing a good training session should not have to be so complicated. Together, we decided to create something that could make a difference, not just for ourselves, but for the wider football community.
The idea was very straightforward. We had to make a place where coaches could draw exercises, organise them into training sessions and print everything they needed before heading onto the pitch. No complicated systems, no expensive subscriptions, just practical tools that make coaching a little easier.
What started as a project between friends has grown into FootballHQ. And while we continue to improve the platform, our goal remains the same: to make good training preparation simple and free, regardless of the level you coach at or the resources available to your team.
Our values
Accessibility
Good coaching tools should not be reserved for well-funded clubs. FootballHQ is free and works for any coach at any level, from youth football to senior amateurs.
Clarity
A session plan is only useful if your players understand it. Clear diagrams and a printed plan make your ideas easy to explain on the pitch.
Community
Coaches learn from each other. Public drills can be browsed, rated and copied, so every coach can build on someone else's experience.
Deliberately simple
We believe coaching tools should help you prepare for training, not give you more work to do. That is why we have kept FootballHQ focused on the essentials.
We are not trying to build another club management system. Our focus is on creating something straightforward that any coach can pick up and start using, whether they are preparing their first training session or their hundredth.
