Privacy policy

FootballHQ, based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, runs this website and app and is the controller of your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Questions and requests about your data: contact@football-hq.com.

• Account: your e-mail address, your password (handled by our authentication provider, Supabase; we never see it) and the display name you choose.
• Google sign-in (optional):if you continue with Google, Google sends your name, e-mail address and a link to your profile picture. Supabase keeps them with your login; the app shows only your first name and the initial of your last name (“Anna K.”) as your display name and does not use the picture.
• Quick setup:when you first open your dashboard we ask your age, how long you have coached, your highest coaching qualification, the age group you mainly coach, your team's level and what you want the app to help you with most. Every question can be skipped. Your answers are never public: only you and FootballHQ's administrators can see them.
• Content you create: exercises (name, description, coaching points, diagram, categories, visibility), sessions, favourites, and reviews (a star rating and an optional comment).
• E-mail delivery records: for each e-mail we send you, whether it was delivered, bounced or reported as spam, and when. Not its content, and not whether you opened it.
• Technical logs: our hosting providers record requests (such as IP address, browser and time) to run and secure the service.

• To give you an account and store, show and print your content: this is needed to provide the service you signed up for (GDPR article 6(1)(b), contract).
• To send account e-mails such as the sign-up confirmation, a welcome e-mail when your account is created, and password reset: also part of providing the service.
• To shape the app around how you coach and to understand who uses it, with your quick-setup answers: our legitimate interest (article 6(1)(f)).
• To make sure account e-mails reach you, with their delivery records: our legitimate interest (article 6(1)(f)).
• To keep the service running and safe from abuse with technical logs: our legitimate interest (article 6(1)(f)).

Only exercises you mark as Public, together with your display name next to them and next to your reviews. Private exercises, sessions and favourites are visible to you alone. Your e-mail address is never shown. To improve FootballHQ, its administrators look at totals across all coaches, such as how many sessions use each theme; these never show one coach's private exercises or sessions.

We do not sell or share your data for marketing. These providers process it on our behalf:

• Supabase: database and authentication. The database is stored in Ireland (EU).
• Vercel: hosting of the website and app.
• Resend: delivery of every e-mail we send you, including the sign-up confirmation, password reset and welcome e-mail, from its EU region (Ireland).
• Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google, under Google's own privacy policy.

Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, it does so under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

• Your account and content: for as long as you have an account.
• After you ask us to delete your account: everything attached to it is deleted within 30 days.
• E-mail delivery records: they stay after your account is deleted, but without anything that links them to you, so we can keep track of how reliably our e-mails arrive.
• Technical logs: for the short period our hosting providers keep them.

You can see and edit your content in the app at any time. Under the GDPR you can also ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or stop or restrict how we use it. Write to contact@football-hq.com; we answer within 30 days.

If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to your data-protection authority; in the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

FootballHQ is for coaches. Accounts are for people aged 16 and over, and the app has no place for data about players.

When we change this policy we update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes we also tell you by e-mail or with a notice in the app. Cookies are covered in the cookies policy.
